Letters to Santa
Writing to Santa: where the letter goes, and a book that answers
Few letters are written with as much care as the one to Santa. Here's where children in the UK and Ireland send theirs, and a book in which the North Pole writes back, with your child as the hero.

Where to send the letter
In the UK, letters to Santa go through Royal Mail, to this address: Santa/Father Christmas, Santa's Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ. In Welsh: Sion Corn, Ogof Sion, Corn Gwlad Y Ceirw, XM4 5HQ.2 Children should put their name and address in the letter so that Santa can write back.1 In 2025, letters had to arrive by 10 December for a reply;2 check this year's date in good time.
In Ireland, An Post carries the letters. Children address them to Santa Claus, The North Pole,3 write their own address on the top left of the envelope, stick on a national “N” stamp and post it in a green An Post postbox.4
Writing the letter is a small ritual of its own: the list, the drawing in the corner, the question of whether the reindeer get a carrot too. Keep a copy: in a few years, it's one of the most touching things in the drawer.
And a book as the answer. At Sagalino, you can create a Christmas story in which your child is the hero: the letter sets off, reaches the North Pole, and something comes back. What you describe goes into the story, the wish list included, if you like. The book isn't a letter from Royal Mail or An Post, and it doesn't replace theirs; it's a present under the tree.
You read the whole story for free before you decide. The eBook is ready about half an hour after you buy, even on Christmas Eve. The hardcover is delivered to 214 countries and territories, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States and Canada; in Europe and North America it arrives in up to 13 working days after you approve the finished book. For Christmas, order it in November.

- An elf reads the letter and has a question that only the child can answer.
- Christmas Eve, when the child is still awake and hears something on the roof.
