Personalised book without a photo

A personalised book for your child, without uploading a photo

To create the hero, a few words are enough: hair and eye colour, hairstyle, favourite outfit, the cuddly toy that goes everywhere. No photo is asked for at any point. And before you pay anything, you read the whole story.

Every character starts from a description

Read the whole story for free

All 14 double pages, the hero and the cover are yours to see before you buy: you only pay if you love the story.

Photo optional

A short description is enough for a lovely hero. Whether you add a photo is up to you. GDPR-compliant.

Illustration styles to choose from

Many styles from the picture-book tradition, from watercolour to ligne claire, kept from the first page to the last.

Without a photo

How the hero comes to life from a description

You describe your child in your own words: hair, eyes, hairstyle, glasses, favourite outfit, whatever you would recognise them by from across the playground. Before the first picture, every character gets a precise character sheet: face, hair, clothes, height next to the others. Every page is then illustrated from that sheet, so the hero looks the same from the first page to the last.

If you like, you can add a photo for one character or for several, and the portrait will then look more like the person. You can also make the whole book without any photo, and nothing else changes.

How close the likeness gets also depends on the style. Watercolour and ink and watercolour render faces in fine detail; paper collage and silhouettes work more through hair, clothes and posture. Each style page says what the style does well.

Questions

Good to know

Do I have to upload a photo of my child?

No. A short description of each character is enough: hair, eyes, hairstyle, favourite outfit, anything distinctive like glasses. You can add photos if you like, so the portraits look more like the people they're based on.

Will my child be recognisable without a photo?

They'll be recognisable by what you describe: the colour and shape of their hair, their eyes, their glasses, their favourite outfit, a cuddly toy. The likeness also depends on the style: watercolour or ink and watercolour render faces more finely than paper collage or silhouettes.

What happens to a photo if I add one?

It's used as the model for that character's portrait. Under the contract terms of OpenRouter and the model operators, your input and the content created are not used to train AI models.

Can I see the book before I pay?

Yes. You read the whole story over all 14 double pages for free, and you see the hero's portrait, the first scenes and the cover. You only pay for the remaining illustrations, and only if you like the story.
